If you follow any kind of beauty channel or blog, you’ve most likely heard about L’Oreal’s new Lash Paradise mascara. EVERYONE was raving about this new mascara and how it’s a dupe for the Too Face Better than Sex mascara, which I’ve never tried. I managed to get my hands on a tube of L’Oreal Lash Paradise a few weeks after it was released – it was so freaking hard because it was not in any drugstore around me. I had to order it online from Target.com, which is highly annoying because we see all of the reviews and that it’s now released, but it’s actually nowhere in real life! I read from another blog that drugstores are releasing new items online first rather than in actual stores to make it more exclusive….but honestly, it’s drugstore makeup. It’s supposed to be accessible and inexpensive. Just let the people have it. *Eye Roll*. Anyway, read on to see how I feel about the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara after a month of use. This no-buy I set for myself is downgraded to a low-buy haha. Obviously, I love makeup, so let’s be real and give makeup a bigger space in my life. I’m still being careful of the colors and products I choose. It’s all about that balance 🙂 Anyway, I recently ordered some things from ELF, and I am so excited about them because they seem really good for us pale princesses. I’m probably most excited about about the new ELF Best Friend Eye Shadow Duo because the colors look promising and duos are easy and quick to use! Read on to see my thoughts.
If I had to choose a favorite nail polish brand, it would have to be Sally Hansen. They have a ginormous color selection, excellent formulas, the perfect wide brush for sweeping on nail polish quickly and neatly, and they are widely available at drugstores for very reasonable prices. I seriously can’t believe some nail polishes cost $30 dollars. Give me my Sally Hansen, which ranges from about $1.97-$9.99, and I’m 103% certain no one can tell the difference once it’s on your hands.
Anyway, I am currently obsessed with the Sally Hansen Color Therapy line of nail polishes. All of the nail polishes in this line include nourishing oils, like argan and evening primrose, that keep your nails healthy. You supposedly don’t even need to wear a base coat so your nails can get the full benefit of the oils, but I still would if I’m using a dark color. I am currently wearing the Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish in Powder Room and all I can say is YES.
Well, it was good while it lasted 🙂 Today I purchased a piece of makeup and broke my strict no-buy until the end of 2017. I had a good run – about 2 months of not purchasing any makeup.
I’m not kicking myself for my purchase today though. After decluttering all of the products that I wasn’t using, the sight of which was giving me stress and anger, and having a nice detox from makeup, I feel like I’m in a better place with makeup. I still am steering clear of the buy buy buy mentality. I no longer idly browse makeup aisles (…except for today when I went in to get a spoolie for my eye brows), but I think this one small item should be fine. The no buy will definitely resume after this!
Now what was it that broke my will and my no-buy? This little guy:
The L’Oreal Brow Stylist Kabuki Blender in the shade dark brunette is a large crayon style brow product. It promises soft and full brows, which is what I typically gravitate towards. The tiny kabuki brush on the other end of the crayon is used to blend the product after it is applied to your brows. Always interested in brow products, I recently picked this up because I have never used a crayon brow product before. Read on for my L’Oreal Brow Stylist Kabuki Blender review!
Meet my new eyeliner love – Revlon’s 2 in 1 Angled Kajal Eyeliner. This wonderful pencil has quickly climbed to the top of my daily makeup loves. It is a dream to use! Read on for my Revlon 2 in 1 Angled Kajal Eyeliner Review!
Sometimes at night I play with makeup. Here is a dark winter look using only drugstore products. It features a beautiful green and burgundy duo chrome eye shadow that brings mystery and dimension to the eyes while also hinting at holiday colors in a muted, darkened fashion!
Have fun! Winter is coming…
As much as I have come to love liquid foundations over the past two years, some days, I don’t want to apply it. Sometimes, I also don’t want to put on sunscreen even though you should, everyday. I just want to be free! For those lazy days, powder is a quick and easy way to even out your skin. Powder with the added benefit of sunscreen is a plus! My go-to foundation and sunscreen for lazy days is the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder. It is easily attainable at the drugstore and really deserves more hype than it gets!
As someone who loves to frequent all of the pharmacies, I recently found myself with a ton of extra care bucks from CVS. That is how I came to possess the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer – a relatively new bronzer for pale skin that I have heard a lot about! PF is rather expensive for the drugstore, so I don’t purchase their items as much as other drugstore brands. This bronzer is $15.29 by itself! But with some smooth use of my extra care bucks, the price came down to a little over $1, and now I am the happy owner of this beauty …
L’Oreal blushes don’t really seem to get much love in the beauty world. I never hear anyone talking about them. They’re not new or exciting looking. I usually pass by them. Well, start raving about this blush because it is an amazing, cheap drugstore dupe for Nars Madly blush!
