Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation Review for Pale Skin

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m excited for the holiday season – it’s my favorite time of year with the Christmas music, holiday decorations, nippy weather, and Christmas spirit!  Hence the Christmas tree background in my photos.  Today I wanted to share what has quickly become one of the my favorite foundations for pale skin – Makeup Forever’s Water Blend Face and Body Foundation!

Makeup Forever Water Blend foundation review for pale skin

During the recent Sephora sale, I picked up this lovely little foundation in the shade Y215, yellow alabaster.  It is the lightest yellow shade of the Water Blend foundations.  I’ve read a lot of reviews from people who say that this new formulation is not as good as the older version.  I have never tried the older formulation, but if they don’t like this new version, then the old version must have been crazy amazing because I think this new formulation is fantastic!

The consistency is quite watery, as the name suggests.  It feels like a light moisturizer on my skin! It is very very sheer, so for people who like coverage, this is not for you.  I think it does a nice job of evening out my skin tone and making my skin look softer and blurred.  I use a damp Real Techniques sponge to apply it to my face, and my skin looks amazing and natural.  You really cannot tell that there is foundation on!

I think that given the light consistency of this foundation, you can apply it easily with your fingers, which I have done as well.  I was still happy with the results.  All in all, it’s a very easy foundation to work with!

The smell of this foundation is pretty flowery.  I don’t mind it, but some people may be sensitive to it.

The lasting power on me is all day, though it fades a bit around my nose.  I have dry skin though, so lasting power may vary for people who are more oily.  The Water Blend foundation is supposed to be waterproof though, so perhaps it does just have better lasting power.

Finally, this foundation just makes your skin look good!  I don’t think it’s dewy looking, but my skin does look good and hydrated!

The color of the shade I chose, Y215 Yellow alabaster, is perfect on my skin.  Honestly, what brand can beat MUFE’s color selection?? If you’re struggling to find a shade match because you’re too pale, try MUFE.  Because this foundation is so sheer, I think you can try a few different shades and they would likely all work once blended out.  Again, it’s a very forgiving foundation.

MAC also has a face and body foundation that I love – I have the color C1.  C1 is a tad dark for me, but it is  a good summer color.  MAC’s F&B is less watery and more dewy than the MUFE Water Blend, I think.  Do I like one formula more than the other? I honestly cannot choose!  MAC does win in terms of price though, $28 for 1.7 fl. oz, versus $43 for 1.69 fl. oz. of MUFE Water Blend.  MAC also has a large 4 fl. oz. white F&B foundation for $38 that you can use to lighten foundations.  Perhaps in the future I will invest in the white F&B foundation to mix in with the MAC, because it is more cost effective.

All in all, I highly recommend this Water Blend foundation and will happily use it up! I even used it for my engagement photo session recently.  Will I repurchase though? It is hard to say as it is quite expensive and MAC makes a lovely F&B foundation for a better price.

What do you think about the MUFE Water Blend foundation?
